How much does hi finance cost?
Almost everything is free: signing up, the survey, the app, and getting matched with the grants you qualify for, plus the links to look them up and apply on your own. The only thing we charge for is optional: helping you apply in the app, for 15% of whatever we help you earn.

Is hi finance free?
Mostly, yes. Downloading the app, taking the survey, seeing the grants you qualify for, applying on your own, and the budgeting tools are all free. You only pay when we help you fill out an application and that application gets funded.

What if I don't get a grant?
Then you pay nothing. Our fee only comes out of funding you receive, so no grant means no fee. There's no upfront cost and no risk in trying.

Do I pay if I apply on my own?
No. Applying on your own, outside the app, is free. We give you each grant's name and links, and you apply directly on their site. The 15% only applies if you choose to apply with us in the app, and only on grants we help you win.

When and how is the fee collected?
Once a grant we helped with is funded, we bill the 15% (plus GST) out of that funding. Nothing is ever due before you are funded, and it never comes out of your own pocket.

Is there tax on the fee?
Yes. GST applies to our fee, the same as any Canadian service. We always show it as a separate line so there are no surprises.
